روی سخنم با اوناست که سوراخ رو گم کردن ، کسانی که برای رسیدن به هدف از هیچ راهکار زشتی فروگذار نمیکنن
همون ها که در برابر دفاع شهروندان مظلوم ، شمشیر و خشونتا بر میدارن ، ولی در برابر کشتار ظالم ، چشم ها شون رو میبندن

کسانی که با دیدگاه تمامیت خواهی خواستار خفه کردن همه دگر اندیشان با برچسب های گوناگون هستن
کسانی که بدون توجه به خواست های مردمی در کف خیابون ، آرزو های ۳۰ ساله رو در گلوی خنجر خورده مردم فریاد میکنن
کسانی که از جایگاه رهبری این جنبش آزادی خواهی پایین نمیان
ولی خواستی جز بازگشت به دوران طلایی و اجرای بی تنازل قانون اساسی ندارن
موج سوارانی که خوب قائد بازی موج سواری بر خون مردم رو بلدند
ولی روزی موج مردمی اون ها رو در خواهد کشید
کسانی که جنبشی بی هدف و راکد از ساز و کار جنبش پویایی آزادی خواهی ایرانیان میخوان
سخن است که
باید شاشید تو این جنبشی که
به جای انقلاب و ریشه کن کردن فرهنگ آدم خواری به خوردن آدمک های بدبخت مشغوله

حتی بدتر از آدم خواری هست این برخورد ها از فاشیسم بد تر هست

این نه یک آدم ، نه یک ملت که یک تاریخ و فرهنگش رو میدرد و میخورد، همچنان که تا کنون دریده

اینجاست که باید گفت
مرگ بر جمهوری اسلامی خون

مرگ بر خامنه ای
مرگ بر خمینی
مرگ بر رفسنجانی
مرگ بر کروبی
مرگ بر موسوی
مرگ بر خاتمی
مرگ بر احمدی نژاد
مرگ بر همه خون ریزان چه ظالم و چه مظلوم

کار ندارم این چقدر طرفدار داره که هر چه بیشتر از بدبختی ایرانی هست
«نمیدونم یک فیلمی بود که نمیدونم مال کی بود
نمیدونم بهنوش بختیاری رفت پیش کروبی یا نه
کروبی هم کاری نکرد»
ولی
بعد از این بر وطن و بوم و برش باید رید -
به چنین مجلس و بر کــرّ و فـَـرَش باید رید
پدر ملت ایران اگر این بی پدر است -
به چنین ملت و روح پدرش باید رید

اگه فرهنگ بالاترینی اینه
باید رید تو این فرهنگ
یارو جو گیر بیچاره برداشته یک تکست نوشته بدون منبع ، یا حتی با منبع !!! چهار تا جوگیر تر از خودشم پشتک میزنن
خوب شما اگه میتونستید که یارو رو از افغانی ها بدتر قصابی میکردید
این بابا نظرشو گفت همین، بیدار شید !!
یعنی گناه این الان از رفسنجانی بیشتره ؟ که هیچ نوچه موسوی و کروبی و اکبر شاه و خاتمی و حتی نوچه های احمدی نژاد صداشون در نمیاد؟

Violence and killing of non believers and apostasy in Islam

Are you supposed to be killed if you do not want to be Muslim? Hell Yes.

Do not let them fool you. Here are the evidences.

 

 

Recently , I been searching through the Internet about Islam, and unfortunately most of the English resources are far from the truth, which means Muslim society has got a huge propaganda to quench any opposite voice. Therefore as someone who had a little look into Islam decided to upgrade a few realities about killing in Islam. As you may have seen in Quran which they cannot deny this one as they do about all other resources to make it easy, there lots of verses telling and asking even forcing Muslims to what it says Kill them all who they don’t believe in Islam. Well every Muslim knows how many Jewish been killed by the prophet and his cousin Ali In the early ages of Islam birth, when they attack to rob Medina and its Jewish people did not want to give up their wealth, properties, souls, believes and wives to them, so they all been decapitated as the smell of blood flood fills all the area. However it was not the first or the last, killing been always one of the bases of Islam to make the way through.

Kill or be killed is such an honour in Islam which has been rewarded sky angels after dead in paradise as per told several times in holly Quran. There are many conditions end up to death by Islam and Quran, as violence has deeply rooted in the religion since prophet Mohammed brings up the thing. But the most dangerous and horrible session is when you have to be killed and you do not have a clue  and you do not even know that you are the one which suits to die by Islam rules.  Specially if there is an apostasy from Islam – which is a one way trap to keep you in- and if you are a non believer of Islam!

For the ease of understanding Arabic sources let me just tell you wherever you see   these two, it means «kill» and «to be killed» respectively:

It is understandable that the information here is too much for some people, but It is only little of what can be found in the Qur’an, the Hadeeth, and Islamic history books.

The Qur’an says:

“Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits, for Allah does not love transgressors”. 2:190

«قاتلوا في سبيل الله الذين يقاتلونكم ولا تعتدوا إن الله لا يحب المعتدين» البقرة 190:2

“And slay them (the infidels) wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out, for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter” 2:191

» وَاقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَخْرِجُوهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ أَخْرَجُوكُمْ وَالْفِتْنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الْقَتْلِ وَلاَ تُقَاتِلُوهُمْ عِندَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ حَتَّى يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِيهِ فَإِن قَاتَلُوكُمْ فَاقْتُلُوهُمْ كَذَلِكَ جَزَاء الْكَافِرِينَ» البقرة 191:2

“And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and Faith in Allah; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression”. 2:193

» وَقَاتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّى لاَ تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّينُ لِلّهِ فَإِنِ انتَهَواْ فَلاَ عُدْوَانَ إِلاَّ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ» ابقرة 193:2

“Fighting is prescribed for you, and you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not” 2:216

» كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تَكْرَهُواْ شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تُحِبُّواْ شَيْئًا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ وَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ» البقرة 216:2

 

Here we see for the first time that war was permissible. Remember that in the earlier days of Islam, war was not allowed. But these verses abrogate the earlier verses, allowing war both in self-defense and against those who the Muslims did not have a treaty with. However, even these verses were in turn abrogated by these later verses:

 

«Let those fight in the cause of Allah who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah, whether he is slain or gets victory soon shall we give him a reward of great (value)» 4:74

«فَلْيُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ الَّذِينَ يَشْرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالآخِرَةِ وَمَن يُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَيُقْتَلْ أَو يَغْلِبْ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا» النساء»74:4

“Seize them and slay them wherever you find them: and in any case take no friends or helpers from their ranks.” 4:89

«وَدُّواْ لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواْ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَاء فَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْ أَوْلِيَاء حَتَّىَ يُهَاجِرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَاقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ وَجَدتَّمُوهُمْ وَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْ وَلِيًّا وَلاَ نَصِيرًا» النساء 89:4

«Allah has granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit at home «4:95

«لاَّ يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ غَيْرُ أُوْلِي الضَّرَرِ وَالْمُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فَضَّلَ اللّهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ دَرَجَةً وَكُـلاًّ وَعَدَ اللّهُ الْحُسْنَى وَفَضَّلَ اللّهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا» النساء 95:4

«Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly» 8:60

«وَأَعِدُّواْ لَهُم مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدْوَّ اللّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَآخَرِينَ مِن دُونِهِمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ اللّهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِن شَيْءٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تُظْلَمُونَ» الأنفال 60:8

«O Prophet! rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding» 8:65

«يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ حَرِّضِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَى الْقِتَالِ إِن يَكُن مِّنكُمْ عِشْرُونَ صَابِرُونَ يَغْلِبُواْ مِئَتَيْنِ وَإِن يَكُن مِّنكُم مِّئَةٌ يَغْلِبُواْ أَلْفًا مِّنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لاَّ يَفْقَهُونَ» الأنفال 65:8

«Fight them and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you to victory over them, and heal the breasts of the Believers»  9:14

«قَاتِلُوهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللّهُ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِين» التوبة 14:9

«Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued»  9:29

«قَاتِلُواْ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّهِ وَلاَ بِالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَلاَ يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلاَ يَدِينُونَ دِينَ الْحَقِّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ حَتَّى يُعْطُواْ الْجِزْيَةَ عَن يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُون» التوبة 29:9

«Say: can you expect for us (and fate) other than one of two glorious things (martyrdom or victory)? But we can expect for you either that Allah will send his punishment (for not believing in Allah) from Himself, or by our hands. So wait (expectant); we too will wait with you» 9:52

«قُلْ هَلْ تَرَبَّصُونَ بِنَا إِلاَّ إِحْدَى الْحُسْنَيَيْنِ وَنَحْنُ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمْ أَن يُصِيبَكُمُ اللّهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِّنْ عِندِهِ أَوْ بِأَيْدِينَا فَتَرَبَّصُواْ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّتَرَبِّصُون» التوبة 52:4

 

Now, what we see here is this: the Quran orders Muslims to fight in order to establish Allah’s kingdom on earth (all of the earth) by any means.  Most Islamic scholars say that one verse of the Quran (9:5) abrogates 124 verses, which are basically all the verses that talk about peace and forgiveness.  This is the verse that says:

“But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular Prayers and practise regular Charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful” 9:5

«فَإِذَا انسَلَخَ الأَشْهُرُ الْحُرُمُ فَاقْتُلُواْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ وَخُذُوهُمْ وَاحْصُرُوهُمْ وَاقْعُدُواْ لَهُمْ كُلَّ مَرْصَدٍ فَإِن تَابُواْ وَأَقَامُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتَوُاْ الزَّكَاةَ فَخَلُّواْ سَبِيلَهُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ» التوبة 5:9

As we see clearly in this verse (which is commonly called the verse of the sword) there is only one way out for pagans (or infidels) to be spared from being slain. They should repent, establish regular prayers, and practice regular charity, i.e. become Muslims. As for people of the book we read the verse in the same sura v. 29, which tells us the way out of being killed  “until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued”

They have to pay protection money and accept to be subdued, i.e. second class citizens, even if they live in their homeland. We see this put into practice in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Sudan, and all the Middle Eastern countries that were conquered by Muslims in the first 100 years of Islam. The ancestors of the Christians who live there now suffered a lot to stay Christian.

Now, there is a fiqhi rule that has to be taken into consideration when studying this:العبرة بعموم اللفظ لا بخصوص السبب, i.e. what is considered is the absoluteness of the utterance, not the specialization of the reason for the revelation. That is, they follow the letter, not the spirit of the law…

In other words Muslims scholars when they make a judgement they consider the Quran and Mohammad in the light of their meaning not in the light of reasons of revelation.

 

The Hadeeth

The Hadeeth are the sayings of Muhammad, the prophet of Islam.  They are the second source of Islamic doctrine. The Hadeeth completely agree with the Quran (concerning violence and co-existence).  Hadeeth have the same concept of abrogation, and the same historical characteristics.  That is, Muhammad’s teachings were very peace-loving at the beginning of Islam, but then came sayings such as:

Ibn Haban in his Sahih, vol. 14, p. 529, narrates: Muhammad said: “I swear by Him who has my soul in his hands, I was sent to you with nothing but slaughter.”

In his Musnad (vol. 2, p. 50) Imam Ahmed narrates by Ibn Omar: “the Prophet said: ‘I was sent by the sword proceeding the judgment day and my livelihood is in the shadow of my spear and humiliation and submission are on those who disobey me.’”

Omar Ibn al-Khatab said: “I heard the prophet of Allah saying: ‘I will cast Jews and Christians out of the peninsula and I won’t leave any one in it but Muslims.’” (Sunan Abu Dawud, vol. 2, No. 28, from the Muhaddith program[2])

Ibn Ishaq and al-Waqidi report that the prophet said the morning after the murder (of Kab Ibn al’Ashraf), “Kill any Jew you can lay your hands on.”  (El beddayah wa alnihaya – Ibn Katheer – vol. 4 – in the chapter on killing Ka’ab bin al’Ashraf)

 

1 Muhammad’s actions

Let us now look at the actions of Muhammad, the last prophet of Islam, as the Quran says “Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah” 33:21

«لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا» الأحزاب 21:33

 

Aisha (the beloved wife of Muhammad) said: “His (Muhammad’s) character was the Qur’an” (narrated Muslim). Therefore the life of Mohammad reflects an accurate interpretation of the Qur’an.

When we read of the actions of the prophet of Islam, we see many cases of assassination. Most of these cases happened because someone criticized the prophet of Islam in speech only.

We read:

Ibn Ishak said: “The apostle said, “Kill any Jew that falls into your power.”  Thereupon Muhayyisa محيصة b. Masud leapt upon Ibn Sunayna, a Jewish merchant with whom they had social and business relations, and killed him.   Huwayyisa حويصة was not a Muslim at the time though he was the elder brother.  When Muhayyisa killed him Huwayyisa began to beat him, saying, ‘You enemy of God, did you kill him when much of the fat on your belly comes from his wealth?’  Muhayyisa answered, ‘Had the one who ordered me to kill him ordered me to kill you I would have cut your head off.’” (El badyah wa alnihaya – Ibn Katheer – vol. 4 – in the chapter on killing Ka’ab bin al’Ashraf)

 

2 `Umayr’s Expedition To Kill Abu Afak

Mohammad once killed a man named (al-Harith b. Suwayd). When Abu Afak wrote a poem objecting to the murder, Muhammad said, “Who will deal with this rascal for me?”  Whereupon Salim b. Umayr, brother of B. Amr b. Auf, one of the “weepers”, went forth and killed him. (Ibn Hisham – Dar el jeel Beirut – 1411 –Vol. 6 -  UMAYR’S EXPEDITION TO KILL ABU AFAK)

 

3 UMAYR B. 3adi JOURNEY TO KILL ASMA D. MARWAN

 

After Abu Afak was murdered, Asma wrote a poem blaming Islam and its followers of killing their opponenets.

When Muhammad heard what she had said he said, “Who will rid me of Marwan’s daughter?”  Ummayr b. Adiy al-Khatmi who was with him heard him, and that very night he went to her house and killed her.  In the morning he came to the apostle and told him what he had done and he [Muhammad] said, “You have helped God and His apostle, O Umayr!”  When he asked if he would have to bear any evil consequences the apostle said, “Two goats won’t butt their heads about her”, so Umayr went back to his people. Now there was a great commotion among B. Khatma that day about the affair of bint [girl] Marwan.  She had five sons, and when Umayr went to them from the apostle he said, “I have killed bint Marwan, O sons of Khatma.  Withstand me if you can; don’t keep me waiting.”  That was the first day Islam became powerful among B. Khatma.

The day after Bint Marwan was killed the men of B. Khatma became Muslims because they saw the power of Islam.”

4 Killing of a slave woman.

A blind man had a slave who he had taken a concubine, the mother of his children, who used to abuse the Prophet and disparage him. He forbade her but she did not stop.

One night she began to slander the Prophet and abuse him. So he took a dagger, placed it on her belly, pressed it, and killed her. A child who came between her legs was smeared with the blood that was there. When the morning came, the Prophet was informed about this. He assembled the people and said: “I adjure by Allah the man who has done this action and I adjure him by my right to him that he should stand up.” The man stood up. He sat before the Prophet and said: “Apostle of Allah! I am her master; she used to abuse you and disparage you. I forbade her, but she did not stop, and I rebuked her, but she did not abandon her habit. I have two sons like pearls from her, and she was my companion. Last night she began to abuse and disparage you. So I took a dagger, put it on her belly and pressed it till I killed her.”   Thereupon the Prophet said: “Oh be witness, no retaliation is payable for her blood.”

5 `Amr B Umayya EXPEDITION

Once Muhammad sent one of his followers named `Amr, to murder Muhammad’s enemy Abu Sufyan. However, the assassination attempt failed. As he returned home, he met a one-eyed shepherd. The shepherd and the Muslim man both identified themselves as members of the same Arab clan. Prior to going asleep, the shepherd said that he would never become a Muslim. Umayya waited for the shepherd to fall asleep and thereafter: ”as soon as the bedouin was asleep and snoring I got up and killed him in a more horrible way than any man has been killed.”

Umayya returned and spoke with Muhammad. He relates…. ”He [Muhammad] asked my news and when I told him what had happened he blessed me.”

 

6 Umm Qirfa

Another example of Muhammad assassinating those who criticised him was when a woman named «Umm Qirfa» (Fatima) was taken prisoner. She was a very old woman. She used to mock Mohammad in speech and poems. Zayd ordered Qays to kill Umm Qirfa and he killed her cruelly, by tying a rope to each of her two legs and to two camels and driving the camels in opposite directions until they tore her in two. (Al ‘saba – Ibn Hagar – vol. 4, page 231)

 

 

 

Muhammad’s companions

قال الرسول: أصحابي كالنجوم،بأيهم اقتديتم اهتديتم    “My companions are like stars, if you imitate any of them, you will, indeed, be guided”  His companions were those who became Muslims and saw Mohammad while he was alive.

Yet reading the history of these companions we find some horrifying stories. Some of the incidents below would be considered war crimes nowadays.

Abu Bakr (the first caliph)

Waging war as the ultimate tool for propagating and defending Islam became a rule for who ever was in power and ruling the Islamic society. The first Caliph, Abu Bakr, who took the lead after the death of Muhammad, even launched wars against Muslims to force them to pay dues to him that Muhammad used to collect for himself (as related in the Qur’an 9:103).

Omar ibn al-Khatab (the second caliph)

Abd Allah ibn Sa’ed (Omr ibn al-Khatab servant) said: “Arab Christians are not Christians, I am not leaving them until they become Muslims or I cut their throats.”(Kanzu ‘umal – al mutka al hindi – vol. 4, No. 11770)

The letter of Khalid Ibn al-Walid to the people of Madain:

“From Khaled ibn al-Walid to Marazebah the people of Faris [Persian people] peace be to those who follow the guidance. Praise God that your servants left you and you lost your possession and have been weakened.  Anyone who prayed our prayer and accepted our place of prayer to the East [Qiblah] and ate our sacrifice that would be a true Muslim who has the same privileges and duties as us. When you receive my letter send me the ransom for the hostage we hold and asked for a covenant, or in the name of the God who there is no other god like him I will send you people who love to die as you love to live.»

«والله الذي لا إله إلا هو،لأرسلن لكم أقواماً يحرصون على الموت كما تحرصون على الحياة».

During the battle with the Persians, and it was very tough war, Khaled said: “O Allah, if you give us victory over them, I swear I won’t leave one of them alive and I will run their river with their blood.”

Then when Allah gave them victory, Khaled send people to call for capturing everyone and asking Muslims not to kill anyone except who refuses to submit. After they captured them, they (the Persians) were brought to the river and were beheaded. The Muslims did that for three days till they had killed 70000.

Now

I recognize that the information above is too much for some people, but I have used only little of what can be found in the Qur’an, the Hadeeth, and Islamic history books.

We have seen what the Qur’an and the Hadeeth teach; we have seen the actions of the last prophet of Islam, and the understanding of these teachings by his companions.

The question now is how do Muslims reconcile all of this with what we hear many saying; namely, that Islam is a peace-loving religion and it teaches co-existence with all other religions.  I would love to believe that Islam is indeed the peaceful religion as many say it is.  But until someone gives me a credible and peaceful interpretation of the writings and events I have outlined, I’m afraid I cannot.

 

One final thing concerns me.  Imam Abu Hammid Ghazali says: “Speaking is a means to achieve objectives. If a praiseworthy aim is attainable through both telling the truth and lying, it is unlawful to accomplish through lying because there is no need for it. When it is possible to achieve such an aim by lying but not by telling the truth, it is permissible to lie if attaining the goal is permissible.” (Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri, The Reliance of the Traveller ( عمدة السالك ), translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller, amana publications, 1997, section r8.2, page 745)

Ibn Shihab, another Muslim scholar said: “there were only three cases where lying was acceptable: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them).” (More information is provided by William Muir’s “Life of Mahomet”, Volume I, footnote p.88) (Sahih Muslim, Book 32, No. 6303 – from the Alim program)

I hope Muslims can tell us why should we believe what they say about how peace-loving a religion Islam is, when we know that they are permitted to lie in order to achieve a noble goal, i.e. making Islam the dominant religion of mankind.  (8:39,40)

 

 

The Quran

contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers.  Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding.  Muslims who do not join the fight are called ‹hypocrites› and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

Unlike nearly all of the Old Testament verses of violence, most of the verses of violence in the Quran are open-ended, meaning that the historical context is not embedded within the surrounding text.  They are part of the eternal, unchanging word of Allah, and just as relevant or subjective as anything else in the Quran.

Unfortunately, there are very few verses of tolerance and peace to abrogate or even balance out the many that call for nonbelievers to be fought and subdued until they either accept humiliation, convert to Islam, or are killed.  This proclivity toward violence – and Muhammad’s own martial legacy – has left a trail of blood and tears across world history.

Quran (2:191-193) – «And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]…and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah.»  There is a good case to be made that the textual context of this particular passage is defensivewar, even if the historical context was not.  However, there are also two worrisome pieces to this verse.  The first is that the killing of others is authorized in the event of «persecution» (a qualification that is ambiguous at best).  The second is that fighting may persist until «religion is for Allah.»  The example set by Muhammad is not reassuring.

 

Quran (2:244) – «Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things.»

 

Quran (2:216) – «Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.»  Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time.  From the Hadith, we know that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding caravans with this verse.

 

Quran (3:56) – «As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.»

 

Quran (3:151) – «Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority».  This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly believed to be ‹joining companions to Allah’).

 

Quran (4:74) – «Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.»  The martyrs of Islam are unlike the early Christians, led meekly to the slaughter.  These Muslims are killed in battle, as they attempt to inflict death and destruction for the cause of Allah.  Here is the theological basis for today’s suicide bombers.

 

Quran (4:76) – «Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…»

 

Quran (4:89) – «They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.»

 

Quran (4:95) – «Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-»  This passage criticizes «peaceful» Muslims who do not join in the violence, letting them know that they are less worthy in Allah’s eyes.  It also demolishes the modern myth that «Jihad» doesn’t mean holy war in the Quran, but rather a spiritual struggle.  Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically disabled are given exemption.  (The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man’s protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad and this is reflected in other translations of the verse).

 

Quran (4:104) – «And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain…»  Is pursuing an injured and retreating enemy really an act of self-defense?

 

Quran (5:33) – «The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement»

 

Quran (8:12) – «I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them»  No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.

 

Quran (8:15) – «O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey’s end.»

 

Quran (8:39) – «And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah»  From the historical context we know that the «persecution» spoken of here was simply the refusal by the Meccans to allow Muhammad to enter their city and perform the Haj.  Other Muslims were able to travel there, just not as an armed group, since Muhammad declared war on Mecca prior to his eviction.  The Meccans were also acting in defense of their religion, since it was Muhammad’s intention to destroy their idols and establish Islam by force (which he later did).  Hence the critical part of this verse is to fight until «religion is only for Allah.»  According to Ibn Ishaq (324), Muhammad justified the violence further by explaining that «Allah must have no rivals.»

 

Quran (8:57) – «If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember.»

 

Quran (8:59-60) – «And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can outstrip (Allah’s Purpose). Lo! they cannot escape.  Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy.»

 

Quran (9:5) – «So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them.»  According to this verse, the best way of staying safe from Muslim violence is to convert to Islam.  Prayer (salat) and the poor tax (zakat) are among the religions Five Pillars.

 

Quran (9:14) – «Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace…»

 

Quran (9:20) – «Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah’s way are of much greater worth in Allah’s sight. These are they who are triumphant.»  The «striving» spoken of here is Jihad.

 

Quran (9:29) – «Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.»  «People of the Book» refers to Christians and Jews.  This was one of the final «revelations» from Allah and it set in motion the tenacious military expansion, in which Muhammad’s companions managed to conquer two-thirds of the Christian world in just the next 100 years.  Islam is intended to dominate all other people and faiths.

 

Quran (9:30) – «And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!»

 

Quran (9:38-39) – «O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place.»  This is a warning to those who refuse to fight, that they will be punished with Hell.

 

Quran (9:41) – «Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but knew.»  See also the verse that follows (9:42) – «If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them»  This contradicts the myth that Muslims are to fight only in self-defense, since the wording implies that battle will be waged a long distance from home (in another country and on Christian soil, in this case, according to the historians).

 

Quran (9:73) – «O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.»  Dehumanizing those who reject Islam, by reminding Muslims that they are merely firewood for Hell, makes it easier to justify slaughter.  It also explains why today’s devout Muslims have little regard for those outside the faith.

 

Quran (9:88) – «But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper.»

 

Quran (9:111) – «Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.»

 

Quran (9:123) – «O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.»

 

Quran (18:65-81) – This parable lays the theological groundwork for honor killings, in which a family member is murdered because they brought shame to the family, either through apostasy or perceived moral indiscretion.  The story, which is not found in any Jewish or Christian source, tells of Moses encountering a man with «special knowledge» who does things which don’t seem to make sense on the surface, but are then justified according to later explanation.  One such action is to murder a youth for no apparent reason (74).  However, the wise man later explains that it was feared that the boy would «grieve» his parents by «disobedience and ingratitude.»  He was killed so that Allah could provide them a ‹better› son.

 

Quran (21:44) – «We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?»

 

Quran (25:52) – «Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness…»   «Strive against» is Jihad – obviously not in the personal context.  It’s also significant to point out that this is a Meccan verse.

 

Quran (33:60-62) – «If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while.  Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter.»   This passage sanctions the slaughter (rendered «merciless» and «horrible murder» in other translations) against three groups: Hypocrites (Muslims who refuse to «fight in the way of Allah» (3:167) and hence don’t act as Muslims should), those with «diseased hearts» (which include Jews and Christians 5:51-52), and «alarmists» or «agitators who include those who merely speak out against Islam, according to Muhammad’s biographers.  It is worth noting that the victims are to be sought out by Muslims, which is what today’s terrorists do.  If this passage is meant merely to apply to the city of Medina, then it is unclear why it is included in Allah’s eternal word to Muslim generations.

 

Quran (47:3-4) – «Those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the truth from their lord.  Thus does Allah set forth form men their lessons by similtudes.  Therefore when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners,»  Those who reject Allah are to be subdued in battle.  The verse goes on to say the only reason Allah doesn’t do the dirty work himself is in order to to test the faithfulness of Muslims.  Those who kill pass the test. «But if it had been Allah’s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.»

 

Quran (47:35) – «Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost (Shakir: «have the upper hand») for Allah is with you,»  This very important verse asserts that the Religion of Peace is not to grant peace to the broader society until Islamic rule has been established.

 

Quran (48:17) – «There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turneth back, him will He punish with a painful doom.»  Contemporary apologists sometimes claim that Jihad means ‹spiritual struggle.’  Is so, then why are the blind, lame and sick exempted?

 

Quran (48:29) – «Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves»  Islam is not about treating everyone equally.  There are two very distinct standards that are applied based on religious status.

 

Quran (61:4) – «Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way»  Religion of Peace, indeed!  This is followed by (61:9): «He it is who has sent His Messenger (Mohammed) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam) to make it victorious over all religions even though the infidels may resist.»

 

Quran (61:10-12) – «O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?- That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity.»  This verse was given in battle.  It uses the Arabic word, Jihad.

 

Quran (66:9) – «O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey’s end.»  The root word of «Jihad» is used again here.  The context is clearly holy war, and the scope of violence is broadened to include «hypocrites» – those who call themselves Muslims but do not act as such.

 

 

From the Hadith:

 

Bukhari (52:177) – Allah’s Apostle said, «The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. «O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.»

 

Bukhari (52:256) – The Prophet… was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, «They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans).»  In this command, Muhammad establishes that it is permissible to kill non-combatants in the process of killing a perceived enemy.  This provides justification for the many Islamic terror bombings.

 

Bukhari (52:220) – Allah’s Apostle said… ‹I have been made victorious with terror›

 

Abu Dawud (14:2526) – The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, «There is no god but Allah» and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist)

 

Abu Dawud (14:2527) – The Prophet said: Striving in the path of Allah (jihad) is incumbent on you along with every ruler, whether he is pious or impious

 

Muslim (1:33) – the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah

 

Bukhari (8:387) – Allah’s Apostle said, «I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‹None has the right to be worshipped but Allah

 

Muslim (1:149) – «Abu Dharr reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds is the best? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Belief in Allah and Jihad in His cause…»

 

Muslim (20:4645) – «…He (the Messenger of Allah) did that and said: There is another act which elevates the position of a man in Paradise to a grade one hundred (higher), and the elevation between one grade and the other is equal to the height of the heaven from the earth. He (Abu Sa’id) said: What is that act? He replied: Jihad in the way of Allah! Jihad in the way of Allah!»

 

Muslim (20:4696) – «the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: ‹One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihid died the death of a hypocrite.’»

 

Muslim (19:4321-4323) – Three separate hadith in which Muhammad shrugs over the news that innocent children were killed in a raid by his men against unbelievers.  His response: «They are of them (meaning the enemy).»

 

Tabari 7:97  The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, «Kill any Jew who falls under your power.»  Ashraf was a poet, killed by Muhammad’s men because he insulted Islam.  Here, Muhammad widens the scope of his orders to kill.  An innocent Jewish businessman was then slain by his Muslim partner, merely for being non-Muslim.

 

Tabari 9:69  «Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us»  The words of Muhammad, prophet of Islam.

 

Ibn Ishaq: 327 – “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”

 

Ibn Ishaq: 990 – Lest anyone think that cutting off someone’s head while screaming ‹Allah Akbar!› is a modern custom, here is an account of that very practice under Muhammad, who seems to approve.

 

Ibn Ishaq: 992 – «Fight everyone in the way of Allah and kill those who disbelieve in Allah.» Muhammad’s instructions to his men prior to a military raid.

 

 

Additional Notes:

Other than the fact that Muslims haven’t killed every non-Muslim under their domain, there is very little else that they can point to as proof that theirs is a peaceful, tolerant religion.  Where Islam is in dominant (as in the Middle East and Pakistan) religious minorities suffer brutal persecution with little resistance.  Where Islam is in the minority (as in Thailand, the Philippines and Europe) there is the constant threat of terror if Muslim demands are not met.

 

The reasons are obvious and begin with the Quran.  Few verses of Islam’s most sacred text can be construed to fit the contemporary virtues of religious tolerance and universal brotherhood.  Those that do are earlier «Meccan» verses that are obviously abrogated by later ones.  This is why Muslim apologists speak of the «risks» of trying to interpret the Quran without their «assistance» – even while claiming that it is a perfect book.

 

Far from being mere history or theological construct, the violent verses of the Quran have played a key role in actual massacre and genocide.  This includes the brutal slaughter of tens of millions of Hindus for five centuries beginning around 1000 AD with Mahmud of Ghazni’s bloody conquest, including the massacre of those who defending their temples from destruction.  Buddhism was very nearly wiped off the Indian subcontinent.  Judaism and Christianity met the same fate (albeit more slowly) in areas conquered by Muslim armies, including the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Europe, including today’s Turkey.  Zoroastrianism, the ancient religion of a proud Persian people is despised by Muslims and barely survives in modern Iran.

 

So ingrained is violence in the religion that Islam has never really stopped being at war, either with other religions or with itself.

 

Muhammad was a military leader, laying siege to towns, massacring the men, raping their women, enslaving their children, and taking what was once the property of others for his own.  On several occasions he rejected offers of surrender from the besieged inhabitants and killed those whom he could take prisoner.  He inspired his followers to battle even when they did not feel it was right to fight, promising them slaves and booty if they did and threatening them with Hell if they did not.  Muhammad allowed his men to rape traumatized women captured in battle.

 

It is important to emphasize that Muslim armies waged aggressive campaigns, and it was the companions of Muhammad who made the most dramatic military gains in the decades following his death.  The principle set in motion early on was that the civilian population of a town was to be destroyed (ie. men executed, women and children taken as slaves) if they defended themselves.  Although modern Muslim apologists often claim that Islam only attacked in self-defense, this is not only an oxymoron, but it is flatly contradicted by the accounts of Muslim historians and others going back to the time of Muhammad.

 

Consider the example of the Qurayza Jews, who were completely wiped out only five years after Muhammad arrived in Medina.  Their leader opted to stay neutral when their town was besieged by a Meccan army, sent to take revenge for Muhammad’s deadly caravan raids.  The tribe killed no one from either side and even surrendered peacefully to Muhammad after the Meccans had been turned back.  Yet the prophet of Islam had every male member of the Qurayza beheaded, and every woman and child enslaved, even raping one of the captives himself (what Muslim apologists call same day «marriage»).

 

Muhammad’s failure to leave a clear line of succession resulted in perpetual internal war following his death.  Those who knew him best first fought to keep remote tribes from leaving Islam and reverting to their preferred religion (the Ridda or ‹Apostasy wars’).  Then within the closer community, early Meccan converts battled later ones.  Hostility developed between those immigrants who had traveled with Muhammad to Mecca and the Ansar at Medina who had helped them settle in.  Finally there was a violent struggle within Muhammad’s own family between his favorite wife and favorite daughter – a jagged schism that has left Shias and Sunnis at each others› throats to this day.

 

The strangest and most untrue thing that can be said about Islam is that it is a Religion of Peace.  If every standard by which the West is judged and condemned (slavery, imperialism, intolerance, women’s rights, sexuality, warfare…) were applied equally to Islam, the verdict would be absolutely devastating.  Islam never gives up what it conquers, be it religion, culture, language or life.  Neither does it make apologies or any real effort at moral progress.  It is the least open to dialogue and the most self-absorbed.  It is convinced of its own perfection, yet brutally shuns self-examination and represses criticism.

 

This is what makes the verses of violence so dangerous.  They are given the weight of divine command.  While Muslim terrorists take them as literally as anything else in the Quran, and understand that Islam is incomplete without Jihad, moderates offer little to contradict them – outside of opinion.  Indeed, what do they have?  Speaking of peace and love may win over the ignorant, but when every twelfth verse of Islam’s holiest book either speaks to Allah’s hatred for non-Muslims or calls for their death, forced conversion, or subjugation, it’s little wonder that sympathy for terrorism runs as deeply as it does in the broader community – even if most Muslims personally prefer not to interpret their religion in this way.

 

In fact, many Muslims are simply unaware of the Quran’s near absence of verses that preach universal non-violence.  This is because their understanding of Islam comes from what they are taught by others.  In the West, it is typical for Muslims to come to believe that their religion must be like Christianity – preaching the New Testament virtues of peace, love, and tolerance – because Muslims are taught that Islam is supposed to be superior in every way.  They are somewhat surprised and embarrassed to learn that the evidence of the Quran and the bloody history of Islam are very much in contradiction to this.

 

Others simply accept the violence.  In 1991, a Palestinian couple in America was convicted of stabbing their daughter to death for being too Westernized.  A family friend came to their defense, excoriating the jury for not understanding the «culture», claiming that the father was merely following «the religion» and saying that the couple had to «discipline their daughter or lose respect.» (source).

 

For their part, Western liberals would do well not to sacrifice critical thinking on the altar of political correctness, or look for reasons to bring other religion down to the level of Islam merely to avoid the existential truth that this it is both different and dangerous.

 

There are just too many Muslims who take the Quran literally… and too many others who couldn’t care less about the violence done in the name of Islam.

Slavery and Sex Slavery IN ISLAM

Islam institutionalized slavery.  Muhammad began to take slaves after he moved to Medina, and had power.  Slaves were usually taken in raids on nearby Arab tribes, or war, either through offensive or defensive actions.  Islam allows the taking of slaves as «booty», or reward for fighting.  This has led to numerous «jihads» by Muslim states and tribes to attack other non-Muslim groups and obtain slaves.  Islamic jurisprudence laid down regulations for the proper treatment of slaves.  However, abuses have occurred throughout history.

INTRODUCTION

The West is familiar with the history of slavery in the new world.  It was sinful and terrible, and it lasted for several hundred years.  And it was abolished mainly through the efforts of Christians in England (Wilberforce, Clarkson) and America (the Abolitionists, primarily Protestant).

However, few people in the west know about Islam and slavery.  Most would be surprised that Islam authorizes the taking of slaves as spoils of war.  From the days that Muhammad drew his sword to rob and conquer non-Muslims to this very day, Muslims have been taking non-Muslims, and even other black Muslims, as slaves.

Muslims were enslaving black Africans long before any slave ships sailed for the New World.  Muslims were taking and making slaves all over the lands they had conquered.  Later, when slave ships were loaded with black slaves, often, a Muslim slave broker had the human cargo all ready to go.  American slavers rarely had to go into inland to capture slaves, they were already waiting there, courtesy of some Muslim ruler, and/or slave broker!  In many cases, if the black slaves were not sent to the New World, they were sent to the Mideast to be enslaved by Arabs, or kept by other black Muslims as slaves.

MUHAMMAD, MUSLIMS, THE QURAN, AND SLAVERY

To begin with, the Quran justifies slavery, and often mentions slaves.  Here are some relevant verses:

The Qur’an:

Qur’an (33:50)«O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee» This is a special command that Muhammad handed down to himself, allowing himself virtually unlimited sex.  Others are limited to four wives, but may also have sex with an unlimited number of slaves, as the following verse make clear:

Qur’an (23:5-6)«..who abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess…» This verse allows the slave-owner to have sex with his slaves.  See also Qur’an (70:29-30).

Qur’an (4:24)«And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess.» Even sex with married slaves is permissible.

Qur’an (8:69)«But (now) enjoy what ye took in war, lawful and good» A reference to war booty, of which slaves were a part.  The Muslim slave master may enjoy his «catch» because (according to verse 71«Allah gave you mastery over them.»

Qur’an (24:32)«And marry those among you who are single and those who are fit among your male slaves and your female slaves…» Breeding slaves based on fitness.

Qur’an (2:178)«O ye who believe! Retaliation is prescribed for you in the matter of the murdered; the freeman for the freeman, and the slave for the slave, and the female for the female.» The message of this verse, which prescribes the rules of retaliation for murder, is that all humans are not created equal.  The human value of a slave is less than that of a free person (and a woman’s worth is also distinguished from that of a man’s).

Qur’an (16:75)«Allah sets forth the Parable (of two men: one) a slave under the dominion of another; He has no power of any sort; and (the other) a man on whom We have bestowed goodly favours from Ourselves, and he spends thereof (freely), privately and publicly: are the two equal? (By no means;) praise be to Allah.» Yet another confirmation that the slave is is not equal to the master.  In this case it is plain that the slave owes his status to Allah’s will.  (According to 16:71, the owner should be careful about insulting Allah by bestowing Allah’s gifts on slaves – those whom the god of Islam has not favored).

BUKHARI’S HADITH AND SLAVERY

There are hundreds of Hadith that deal with slavery.  Whole chapters of Hadith are dedicated to dealing with the taxation, treatment, sale, and jurisprudence of slaves.  In addition to this, numerous Hadith mention slaves, and their relation to their Muslim masters.  Here is a selection of Hadith on slaves:  [all Hadith are from Sahih Bukhari, unless noted.]

Vol. 7-#137  Narrated Abu al-Khudri:  »We got female captives in the war booty and we used to do coitus interruptus with them.  So we asked Allah’s messenger about it and he said, «Do you really do that?» repeating the question thrice, «There is no soul that is destined to exist but will come into existence, till the Day of Resurrection.»"

Here, Muslims had taken female slaves, and had sex with them.  Muhammad approved of this.  He only admonished them not to practice coitus interruptus.

Vol. 5-#459  [This Hadith is similar to the above.  However, additional details are added].  Narrated Ibn Muhairiz:  »I entered the mosque and saw Abu Khudri and sat beside him and asked him about coitus interruptus. Abu  said, «We went out with Allah’s messenger for the Ghazwa (attack upon) Banu Mustaliq and we received captives from among the Arab captives and we desired women and celibacy became hard on us and we loved to do coitus interruptus.  So when we intended to do coitus interruptus we said «How can we do coitus interruptus without asking Allah’s messenger while he is present among us?»  We asked (him) about it and he said «It is better for you not to do so, for if any soul (till the Day of Resurrection) is predestined to exist, it will exist.»"

Here, the Muslims attacked the Banu Mustaliq, and took slaves.  The female slaves were distributed as booty to the Muslim soldiers.  Being away from home, the soldiers became horny, and want to have sexual relations with the newly captured female slaves.  They went to Muhammad and asked about coitus interruptus.  He told them not to practice that, but to complete the sexual act with the slaves.  Related Hadith show that they didn’t want to get the women pregnant because they wanted to be able to sell them later on.  Under Islamic law they were not allowed to sell pregnant female slaves.

In effect, Muhammad okayed the rape of female prisoners.

Vol. 3-#765

Narrated Kuraib:  the freed slave of Ibn ‹Abbas, that Maimuna bint Al-Harith told him that she manumitted a slave-girl without taking the permission of the Prophet. On the day when it was her turn to be with the Prophet, she said, «Do you know, O Allah’s Apostle, that I have manumitted my slave-girl?» He said, «Have you really?» She replied in the affirmative. He said, «You would have got more reward if you had given her (i.e. the slave-girl) to one of your maternal uncles.»

Here a woman frees a slave girl, but Muhammad says that she would have gotten more (heavenly) reward if she had given the slave one of her uncles, thus keeping the slave in slavery.

Vol. 7-#734     »….At the door of the [Muhammad's] room there was a slave to whom I went and said, «Ask the permission for me to enter»…..

This is a long Hadith, and the quote reveals that Muhammad has slaves working in his house.

Vol. 7-#344     Narrated Anas:  »Allah’s messenger went to the house of his slave tailor, and he was offered a dish of gourd of which he started eating. I have loved to eat gourd since I saw Allah’s messenger eating it.»

This Hadith shows that another one of Muhammad’s slaves was a tailor.  #346 gives additional details.

Vol. 5-#541     Narrated Abu Huraira:  When we conquered Khaibar, we gained neither gold nor silver as booty, but we gained cows, camels, goods and gardens.  Then we departed with Allah’s apostle to the valley of Al-Qira, and at that time Allah’s messenger had a slave called Midam who had been presented to him by one of Banu Ad-Dibbab.  While the slave was dismounting the saddle of Allah’s messenger an arrow the thrower of which was unknown, came and hit him…..

This Hadith shows that Muhammad held a slave, who was struck with an arrow.

Vol. 5-#637     Narrated Buraida:  The prophet sent Ali to Khalid to bring the Khumus ([one fifth] of the booty) and I hated Ali, and Ali had taken a bath (after a sexual act with a slave girl from the Khumus).  I said to Khalid, «Don’t you see this (i.e. Ali)?»  When we reached the prophet I mentioned that to him.  He said, «O Buraida!  Do you hate Ali?»  I said, «Yes»  He said, «Do you hate him, for he deserves more than that from the Khumus.»

The note for this Hadith says «Buraida hated Ali because he had taken a slave girl form the booty and considered that as something not good.»

Here Ali took a newly captured slave girl, and had sex with her.  When Muhammad was told about it, he approved of it.  Note that slaves were considered as booty, and as a man’s property, they can use the female slave for sex, i.e., rape them.

Vol. 5-#512     Narrated Anas:  »…..The prophet had their warriors killed, their offspring and woman taken as captives….»

This Hadith details the attack on the Jews of Khaibar.  Again, many of the women and children were taken and made into slaves.

Vol. 5-Chapter 67  Narrated Ibn Ishaq:  The Ghazwa (attack upon) Uyaina bin Hisn waged against Banu Al-Anbar, a branch of Banu Tamim.  The prophet sent Uyaina to raid them.  He raided them and killed some of them and took some others as captives.

Here, Muhammad sent out his men to attack another tribe.  The killed some of them and took others as captives.  Once again, the Muslims attacked a neighboring tribe.

Vol. 5-#182     Narrated Aisha:  »Abu Bakr had a slave who used to give him some of his earnings.

Vol. 5-#50       Narrated Amr Maimun:  »….The slave of Al-Mughira…»

[another Muslim who owned the slave that killed Umar.]

….Al-Abbas had the greatest number of slaves….

[Al-Abbas, the future Muslim leader had many slaves].

Vol. 9-#462     Narrated Aisha:  »…Furthermore you may ask the slave girl who will tell you the truth».  So the prophet asked Barira (my slave girl)…

Aisha had her own slave.

Also, volume 7-#s 845, 341, 352, 371, 410, 413, 654, ch. 22, ch. 23, and

volume 1-#s 29, 439, 661,

volume 9-#s ch. 23, ch. 32, #293, 296, 277, 100, 80.

All these Hadith detail that many other Muslims owned slaves.

MUHAMMAD, ABU DAWUD’S HADITH, AND SLAVERY

Abu Dawud, vol. 2, chapter 597 – «On a Man who Beats His Slave While he is in the Sacred State (wearing Ihram).»

#1814- »(Abu Bakr) began to beat him (Bakr’s slave) while the apostle of Allah was smiling and saying:  »Look at this man who is in the sacred state, what is he doing?»  [The note for this Hadith says "Abu Bakr beat his slave to teach him sense of responsibility."]

Abu Dawud, vol. 2, chapter 683 – «On the Marriage of a Slave without the Permission of His Masters»

#2074-  »Ibn Umar reported the prophet as saying:  »If a slave marries without the permission of his master, his marriage is null and void.»

Abu Dawud, vol. 2, chapter 1317 – «Contractual Obligation of a Slave.»

#3499, 3500-   »The contractual obligation of a slave is three days.  If he finds defect in the slave within three days, he may return it without any evidence;  if he finds a defect after three days, he will be required to produce evidence that the slave had the defect when he brought it.»

MUHAMMAD, THE MUWATTA OF IMAM MALIK, AND SLAVERY

The chapters mentioned below show just how intrinsic slavery was during Muhammad’s life, and the lives of the Caliphs.  The Muwatta is a book of Islamic jurisprudence.  It is full of regulations on dealing with slaves.  Slaves were used throughout the Islamic world.  Judging from the amount of Hadith here, it is safe to assume that many Muslims owned slaves.

Chapter 368 – «Who takes the Property of a Slave When He is Freed»

Chapter 371 – «Slaves who cannot be set Free in the Obligatory Freeing of a Slave»

Chapter 383 – «Cohabitation with a Slave Girl after Declaring Her ‹Mudabbir’» (free after the master’s death).

Chapter 387 – «Who is Entitled to the Property of a Slave or Slave Girl at the time of Sale.»

Chapter 388 – «The Limit of Responsibility of the Seller in the Sale of a Slave or Slave Girl.»

Chapter 390 – «On the Conditional Sale of a Slave Girl.»

There are additional chapters dealing with slaves.  This list is enough to show that dealing with slaves during and after Muhammad’s time was extensive.

OTHER ISLAMIC WRITINGS ON MUSLIMS OWNING SLAVES

There are additional Islamic writings that document how Muhammad took purchased, sold, and gave away slaves.  The following quotes are from «Behind the Veil».

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, a great scholar and Islamic historian says in his book «Zad al-Ma’ad», part 1, p160:

«Muhammad had many male and female slaves.  He used to buy and sell them, but he purchased more slaves then he sold.  He once sold one black slave for two.  His purchases of slaves were more than he sold.»

«Muhammad had a number of black slaves.  One of them was named ‹Mahran’.  Muhammad forced him to do more labor than the average man. Whenever Muhammad went on a trip and he, or his people, got tired of carrying their stuff, he made Mahran carry it.  Mahran said «Even if I were already carrying the load of 6 or 7 donkeys while we were on a journey, anyone who felt weak would throw his clothes or his shield or his sword on me so I would carry that, a heavy load».  Tabari and Jawziyya both record this, so Islam accepts this as true.»

Ali, who was Muhammad’s son-in-law, whipped Aisha’s slave in front of Muhammad to make her talk about the adultery charges against Aisha.  Muhammad did not say a word to Ali about beating the female slave.  [From the Sirat Rasulallah, p496.]

In the Sirat Rasulallah, Muhammad massacred 800 males and took their women and children as slaves.  He kept at least one Jewish female named Rayhana as his concubine, and gave the rest away to the Muslims. The Sirat says (p466) «Then the apostle divided the property, wives, and children of Banu Qurayza among the Muslims….

and

«Then the apostle sent Sa’d Zayd brother of Ashhal with some of the captive women of Banu Qurayza to Najd and he sold them for horse and weapons.»

By Islam writers

Bukhari (80:753)«The Prophet said, ‹The freed slave belongs to the people who have freed him.’»

Bukhari (52:255) – The slave who accepts Islam and continues serving his Muslim master will receive a double reward in heaven.

Bukhari (41.598) – Slaves are property.  They cannot be freed if an owner has outstanding debt, but rather used to pay off the debt.

Bukhari (62:137) – An account of women taken as slaves in battle by Muhammad’s men after their husbands and fathers were killed.  The woman were raped with Muhammad’s approval.

Bukhari (34:432) – Another account of females taken captive and raped with Muhammad’s approval.  In this case it is evident that the Muslims intend on selling the women after raping them because they are concerned about devaluing their price by impregnating them.  Muhammad is asked about coitus interruptus.

Bukhari (47.765) – A woman is rebuked by Muhammad for freeing a slave girl.  The prophet tells her that she would have gotten a greater heavenly reward by giving her to a relative (as a slave).

Bukhari (34:351) – Muhammad sells a slave for money.  He was thus a slave trader.

Bukhari (72:734) – Some contemporary Muslims in the West, where slavery is believed to be a horrible crime, are reluctant to believe that Muhammad owned slaves.  This is just one of many places in the Hadith where a reference is made to a human being owned by Muhammad.  In this case, the slave is of African descent.

Muslim 3901 – Muhammad trades away two black slaves for one Muslim slave.

Muslim 4112 – A man freed six slaves on the event of his death, but Muhammad reversed the emancipation and kept four in slavery to himself.  He cast lots to determine which two to free.

Bukhari (47:743) – Muhammad’s own pulpit – from which he preached Islam – was built with slave labor on his command.

Bukhari (59:637)«The Prophet sent Ali to Khalid to bring the Khumus (of the booty) and I hated Ali, and Ali had taken a bath (after a sexual act with a slave-girl from the Khumus). I said to Khalid, ‹Don’t you see this (i.e. Ali)?› When we reached the Prophet I mentioned that to him. He said, ‹O Buraida! Do you hate Ali?› I said, ‹Yes.› He said, ‹Do you hate him, for he deserves more than that from the Khumlus.’» Muhammad approved of his men having sex with slaves, as this episode involving his son-in-law, Ali, clearly proves.  This hadith refutes the modern apologists who pretend that slaves were really «wives,» since Muhammad had forbidden Ali from marrying another woman as long as Fatima (his favorite daughter) was living.

Abu Dawud (2150)«The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) sent a military expedition to Awtas on the occasion of the battle of Hunain. They met their enemy and fought with them. They defeated them and took them captives. Some of the Companions of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) were reluctant to have intercourse with the female captives in the presence of their husbands who were unbelievers. So Allah, the Exalted, sent down the Qur’anic verse: (Qur’an 4:24) ‹And all married women (are forbidden) unto you save those (captives) whom your right hands possess.’» This is the background for verse 4:24 of the Qur’an.  Not only does Allah grant permission for women to be captured and raped, but allows it to even be done in front of their husbands.

Ibn Ishaq (734) – A slave girl is given a «violent beating» by Ali in the presence of Muhammad, who does nothing about it.

Ibn Ishaq (693)«Then the apostle sent Sa-d b. Zayd al-Ansari, brother of Abdu’l-Ashal with some of the captive women of Banu Qurayza to Najd and he sold them for horses and weapons.» Muhammad trades away women captured from the Banu Qurayza tribe to non-Muslim slave traders for property.  (Their men had been executed after surrendering peacefully without a fight).

Umdat al-Salik (Reliance of the Traveller) (o9.13) – According to Sharia, when a child or woman is taken captive by Muslims, they become slaves by the fact of their capture.  A captured woman’s previous marriage is immediately annulled.

One thing for certain:  MUHAMMAD WAS A SLAVER.  The names of many of Muhammad’s slaves are detailed in Muslim writings and they can be found in «Behind the Veil».

Some Muslims claim that slaves under Islam were always treated fairly and kindly, and that slaves in the West were always treated like «chattel».  The fact is that the real treatment slaves in both the west and under Islam has varied.  Some slaves were treated fairly, others were treated brutally.  Both the Quran and New Testament command masters to treat slaves fairly.  Compare Ephesians 6:9 with Sura 4:36.  Both are similar. However, the New Testament condemns slave trading in 1 Tim 1:10  (menstealers is the same word for slave-traders), the Quran allows for, even urges slave-taking.

THE RIGHTS OF SLAVES UNDER ISLAM

According to the Hughes Dictionary of Islam, slaves had few civil or legal rights.  For example:

a)         Muslim men were allowed to have sex anytime with females slaves – Sura 4:3, 4:29, 33:49.

b)         Slaves are as helpless before their masters as idols are before God – Sura 16:77

c)         According to Islamic Tradition, people at the time of their capture were either to be killed, or enslaved.  Shows you that they were at the bottom of the barrel to start with.

d)         According to Islamic jurisprudence, slaves were merchandise. The sales of slaves was in accordance with the sale of animals.

e)         Muhammad ordered that some slaves who were freed by their master be RE-ENSLAVED!

f)          It is permissible under Islamic law to whip slaves.

g)         According to Islam, a Muslim could not be put to death for murdering a slave.  Ref. 2:178 and the Jalalayn confirm this.

h)         According to Islam, the testimony of slaves is not admissible in court.  Ibn Timiyya and Bukhari state this.

i)          According to Islamic jurisprudence, slaves cannot choose their own marriage mate. – Ibn Hazm, vol. 6, part 9.

j)          According to Islamic jurisprudence, slaves can be forced to marry who their masters want. – Malik ibn Anas, vol. 2, page 155.

Slavery continued in Islamic lands from about the beginning to this very day.  Muslim rulers always found support in the Quran to call ‹jihad’, partly for booty, part for the purpose of taking slaves.  As the Islamic empire disintegrated into smaller kingdoms, and each ruler was able to decide what Islam’s theology really meant.  Usually, he always found it in support of what he wanted to do.  Their calls of jihad against their neighbor facilitated the taking of slaves for Islam.  The Quran and Islamic jurisprudence support the taking of slaves, so, those petty Muslim rulers were following the Quran when they needed slaves.

WHO COULD BE MADE SLAVES UNDER ISLAM?

1)         Islam allows Muslims to make slaves out of anyone who is captured during war.

2)         Islam allows for the children of slaves to be raised as slaves

3)         Like #1, Islam allows for Christians and Jews to be made into slaves if they are captured in war.  After Muslim armies attacked and conquered Spain, they took thousands of slaves back to Damascus.  The key prize was 1000 virgins as slaves.  They were forced to go all the way back to Damascus.

4)         Christians and Jews, who had made a treaty with the ruling Muslims could be made into slaves if they did not pay the «protection» tax.  This paying for ‹protection› was just like paying a Mafia racketeer!  This allowed Muslim rulers to extort money from non-Muslim people.

POST MUHAMMAD SLAVERY

WHERE DID MANY OF THE MUSLIM’S SLAVES COME FROM?

Although Muslims took slaves from all over the lands they conquered, many of the Muslim slaves were black Africans.  There were forced to do the harshest labor.

There was a famous black slave revolt in Iraq where thousands of black slaves revolted and killed tens of thousands of Arabs in Basrah.  There slaves were forced to work in the large Muslim saltpeter mines. During their revolt, they conquered the city of Basrah, in Iraq.  They conquered city after city, and they couldn’t be stopped.  Their uprising and drive for freedom lasted for about 11 years.  ["The History of Islam", Robert Payne, p.185.]

As the Muslim armies continued to conquer land, they acquired many slaves.  Bernard Lewis in «The Arabs in History» writes:  »polytheists and idolaters were seen primarily as sources of slaves.»

In the early years of the Arab conquests, vast numbers of slave were acquired by capture.  C.E. Bosworth in «The Islamic Dynasties» writes:  »the use of this labor enabled the Arabs to live on the conquered land as a rentier class and to exploit some of the economic potential of the rich Fertile Crescent.»

Ibn Warraq writes:  »Arabs were deeply involved in the vast network of slave trading – they scoured the slave markets of China, India, and Southeast Asia.  There were Turkish slaves from Central Asia, slaves from the Byzantine Empire, white slave from Central and East Europe, and Black slaves from West and East Africa.  Every city in the Islamic world had its slave market.»

ABUSES OF SLAVES IN MODERN ISLAM TODAY

Muhammad did say that slaves should be treated fairly.  But they were still a Muslim’s property.  Just as abuses occurred under Christianity, so too, many abuses occurred, and still occur under Islam.  The difference between the two is that Islam ordains the taking of slaves during war, thus perpetuating slavery.  Christianity does not.  In slavery’s perpetual existence, Islam has seen great abuses of slaves.

Everyone knows about the abuses of slaves in the new world.  What do you know about the abuses of slaves under Islam?  I found two very good books on slavery and Islam.

1)         »Slavery and Muslim Society in Africa», by Allan Fisher, pub in 1971, and

2)         »The Slave Trade Today» by Sean O’Callaghan, pub in 1961.

Both books really opened my eyes to how terrible slavery under Islam really is.  I use the present tense, because it is obvious that these abuses continue to this day.

I also have a number of other references concerning slavery in Islam.  A general survey is Hughes Dictionary of Islam.  It notes a few basic points:

a)         Slaves have no civil liberty, but are entirely under the authority of their owners.

b)         Slavery is in complete harmony with the spirit of Islam.  Islam did make life better for the average slave, but Muhammad intended it to be a perpetual institution.

c)         Hughes also says that it is a righteous act to free a slave. I just find it hard to understand that the god who told Muhammad to take slaves later tells him it’s good to free slaves?

In ‹The Slave Trade Today’, Sean O’Callaghan toured the Mideast and Africa and covertly visited many slave markets.  Since Islam allows for slavery and slave trading, he was able to see much of the real world of Islamic slavery.  Remember O’Callaghan saw this less than 40 years ago.  This probably still continues today, albeit more discreetly.

In Djibouti he writes:

«Ten boys were ranged in a circle on the dais (used to display the slaves), their buttocks toward us.  They were all naked, and I saw with horror that five had been castrated.  The (slave dealer) said that usually 10% of the boys are castrated, being purchased by Saudi homosexuals, or by Yemenis, who own harems, as guards.» p 75

«Why had the girls (female slaves who had just been sold) had accepted their fate without a murmur, the boys howled and cried?»  »Simple» said the Somali, we tell the girls from a very early age  - 7 or 8 that they are made for love, at age NINE we let them practice with each other, and a year later with the boys».

In Aden he writes:

«The Yemeni told me that the girls (slave girls used as prostitutes) were encouraged to have children, especially by white men.  For if a slave girl had a white child, she was given a bonus of 20 pounds when the child was taken from her».    As you can see, the child of a slave remained a slave, the owner could sell the child and make money.  This sale is allowable under Islamic law.

«Only one offense was severely punished; attempting to escape from the harem… The wretched girl was stripped and spread eagle in the courtyard…punishment was administer by a eunuch, a huge powerful Negro who seemed to enjoy his task.  70 lashes were given.»

«Because of this (the fact that eunuchs can perform sexually), the eunuch often has his penis removed as well as his testicles»!  This is also legal under Islamic law, since it is preparing the slave for service.

In Saudi Arabia he writes:

‹The slave population was estimated at 450,000″!.  ….Slave auctions are no longer held regularly, only in an alley in Mecca.»

‹I was awakened by shouts and screams coming from the courtyard.  Rushing to the window I looked down to see a dozen slaves being herded through a door at the far end of the yard.  They were being driven in like cattle by three hefty guards armed with long lashed whips.  Even as I watched, one of the poor wretches, a Sudanese girl with huge breasts, received a savage lash across her naked buttocks let out a shriek of agony›

‹As the next slave was led in, a murmur of excitement went up among the buyers and they crowded closer around the rostrum.  He was a slender boy of about 12 years old with beautiful classical Arab features. Although much has been written about Arab brotherhood and solidarity, I knew that the Arab has no compunction in enslaving his fellows should they fall into his hands.

The boy was naked and tried to cover his privates with his little hands and he ran up the steps of the rostrum……there is an age old saying among the Bedouin:  »A goat for use, a girl for enjoyment, but a boy for ecstasy».  He (the now purchased slave boy) was claimed by a tall bearded Arab who led him from the rostrum with an arm around his waist».

This is just a portion of what O’Callaghan saw.  This happens because Islam has made it legal for slavery.  Yes, some of this is against Islam, but because Islam has made it into an institution, abuses will occur.

Remember, this happened just 35 years ago or so, and it is probably still happening today.

It is also noted that as the slaves get too old to perform service or sexually satisfy their masters, their masters ‹manumits› the slaves.  Now, aged, worn out, they are put out on the streets to fend for themselves. These ex-slaves are left to fend for themselves.  Their former owner has committed a great, righteousness act in freeing a slave!  He gets rid of the burdensome slave, and gets a bonus in heaven.  What a religion!

In Fisher’s book, other observations are recorded:

In Mecca:

«We take note of 20 tall Negroes in turbans walking near the Kaba.  They are eunuch slaves and are employed as police in the great Mosque.  There are about 50 of them all together.»

«The streets are full of slaves… we see a few old slave women.  They are recognized by the poverty of clothing… but we see nothing of the younger women slaves who are kept in the houses of the city.»

«As we move along we see two or three very old men and women who look like black skeletons.  If we go to the mosque at sunrise we shall see some of these, if we go at sunset they will be there too, and if we pass by at midnight, we shall see them there still .. Sleeping on the stones in their rags.  They have no home but the mosque, and no food but what they receive in alms; (they were) turned out to seek the bounty of Allah, as their masters would say.»

Speaking of how Saudi obtains so many black slaves:  »they (the slave traders) pose as Muslim missionaries who guide their compatriots (black African Muslims), to the Holy Places of Islam, to make the Pilgrimage, and be instructed in the Quran in Arabic.»  Once transported, they are made into slaves.

«So with the connivance of the Saudi authorities the ancient trade in black ivory is perpetuated in our time in spite of the international conventions».

Fisher also notes that white slaves are most highly prized.

Another interesting comment I’ve come across is that there were regions in black Africa that Muslim missionaries wouldn’t go into.  The reason is that if those blacks became Muslim, they could no longer enslave them.  So, the Muslims banned spreading the word of Islam among certain black tribes.  It was from these tribes that local Muslim rulers would harvest slaves, and sell them throughout the Islamic world.

Time and time again, slavery in Islam is abused.  The west has finished with slavery, Islam continues it, and with that, the abuses go on.

A recent article on the slavery in Sudan is found in Newsweek, Oct. 12, 1992.  Since that time, there have been numerous articles written by every form of press on Islamic slavery in Sudan.  Basically, southern Sudanese, who are not Muslim, are attacked, and rounded up, and sold into slavery.  Anyone willing to do a search at a library could find these articles quite easily.

Lastly, I remember watching a Tony Brown’s Journal show.  It covered the slavery existing in Muslim lands today, the torture of slaves, the hobbling by breaking the young boys ankles, the seizure of Negro lands by Arabs, etc.  Anyone is able to call the show and order this tape.  A Negro Muslim from Mauritania was on the show.  He described what the Arabs in Mauritania were doing to the Negroes (all Muslim) there.  Recent human rights publications have also stated that the same is happening in Mali.  Arab Muslims are forcibly taking land, and enslaving Negro Muslims there.

Just a short while ago, a group of Negro pastors in the US, formed a group to combat Islamic slavery amongst the blacks, both Muslim and non-Muslim in Africa.  The information on this can be found in the August 1997 issue of Charisma magazine, and in the 11-17-97 issue of Christianity.  The group is called «Harambee» and is affiliated with the Loveland Church in Los Angeles, CA.

Finally

Slavery is deeply embedded in Islamic law and tradition.  Although a slave-owner is cautioned against treating slaves harshly, basic human rights are not obliged.  The very fact that only non-Muslims may be taken as slaves is evidence of Islam’s supremacist doctrine.

Of the five references to freeing a slave in the Qur’an, three are prescribed as punitive measures against the slaveholder for unrelated sin, and limits the emancipation to just a single slave.  Another (24:33) appears to allow a slave to buy their freedom if they are «good.»  (This is consistent with the traditional Islamic practice of wealth-building through the taking and ransoming of hostages, which began under Muhammad).

A tiny verse in one of the earliest verses 90:13 does say that freeing a slave is good, however, this was «revealed» at a time when the Muslim community was miniscule and several of their new and potential recruits were either actual slaves or newly freed slaves.  Many of these same people, and Muhammad himself, later went on to become owners and traders of slaves, both male and female, as they acquired the power to do so.  The language of the Qur’an changed to accommodate slavery, which is why this early verse has had negligible impact on slavery in the Islamic world.

Contrary to popular belief, converting to Islam does not automatically earn a slave his freedom, although doing so is said to increase a slave master’s heavenly reward (Muslim slaves are implied in Qur’an (4:92)).  As far as the Islamic courts are concerned, a master may treat his slaves however he chooses without fear of punishment.

By contrast, Christianity was a major impetus in the movement to abolish the age-old institution of slavery.  Yet, abolition had to be imposed on the Islamic world by the West.

Given that there was no abolitionary movement within the Islamic world, it is astonishing to see contemporary Muslims write their religion into the history of abolition.  The lie – that the eradication of slavery had anything to do with Islam – has been repeated so often that even those who may parrot it are blissfully ignorant of its lack of factual foundation.

There was no William Wilberforce or Bartoleme de las Casas in Islam.  As mentioned, Muhammad, the most revered figure in the religion, practiced and approved of slavery.  Even his own pulpit was built with slave labor.  The second caliph, a companion of the prophet, was stabbed to death by a slave whose liberty he refused to grant.  Caliphs since have had harems of hundreds, sometimes thousands of young girls and women brought from Christian lands and other places to service the desires of Islam’s religious equivalent of the pope in the most demeaning fashion.

One of the myths about Islamic slavery is that it was not race-based, but in fact it was.  Muhammad’s father-in-law, Umar, in his role as caliph, declared that Arabs could not be taken as slaves and even had all Arab slaves freed on his deathbed.  This helped propel the vast Islamic campaign to capture slaves in Africa, Europe and Asia for importing into the Middle East.

Literally millions of Christians were captured into slavery during the many centuries of Jihad against the West.  So pervasive were the incursions by the Turks into Eastern Europe, that the English word for slave is based on Slav.  Muslim slave raiders even operated as far north as England.  In 1631, a French cleric in Algiers observed the sale of nearly 300 men, women and children, taken from a peaceful English fishing village:

«It was a pitiful sight to see them exposed in the market…Women were separated from their husbands and the children from their fathers…on one side a husband was sold; on the other his wife; and her daughter was torn from her arms without the hope that they’d ever see each other again.» (from the book, White Gold, which also details the story of English slave, Thomas Pellow, who was beaten, starved and tortured into embracing Islam).

The Indian and Persian people suffered mightily as well – as did Africans.  At least 17 million slaves (mostly black women and children) were brought out of Africa by Islamic traders – far more than the 11 million that were taken by the Europeans.  However, these were only the survivors.  As many as 85 million other Africans were thought to have died en route.

Most telling, perhaps, is that slavery is still practiced in the Sudan, Niger, Mauritania and a few other corners of the Muslim world – and you won’t see any of those Muslim apologists (who shamelessly repeat the lie that Islam abolished slavery) doing or saying anything about it!

In fact, a fatwa was recently issued from a mainstream Islamic source reminding a Muslim that he has a divine right to rape female slaves and «discipline» resisters in «whatever manner he thinks is appropriate».  Not one peep of protest from Islamic apologists was recorded.

Since Muhammad was a slave owner and slavery is permitted by the Qur’an, the Muslim world has never apologized for this dehumanizing practice.  Even Muslims in the West will often try to justify slavery under Islam, since it is a part of the Qur’an.

(Islam messenger prophet Muhammad marries his Daughter-in-law !!! (his son’s wife

Could you marry your daughter-in-law ? yes, but if you only are the Islam messenger prophet Muhammad !!!

 

One of the most shocking events in the life of Muhammad, one which has been a major source of embarrassment for Muslims, is his marriage to his son’s wife(!!!), Zaynab bint Jash. Zaynab had married Zayd who was the freed slave(!!!) of Muhammad’s first wife, Khadijah, whom Muhammad adopted as his son. According to the story, Muhammad had ventured to see his adopted son, Zayd, at his house. Upon arriving, he found Zaynab unveiled and was enamored by her beauty. As he departed, Muhammad made some comments which she heard and, when her husband returned, told him what had transpired. After Zayd heard that Muhammad had made some comments about his wife’s beauty, he went to his adoptive father and told him that he would divorce her so he could marry her if this is what Muhammad desired. Subsequently, Zayd divorced his wife and Muhammad was commanded by Allah(!!!) to then marry Zaynab, his adopted son’s divorce.

The Quran refers to this marriage in the following passage:

When thou saidst to him whom God had blessed and thou hadst favoured, ‹Keep thy wife to thyself, and fear God,› and thou wast CONCEALING WITHIN THYSELF what God should reveal, FEARING OTHER MEN; and God has better right for thee to fear Him. So when Zaid had accomplished what he would of her, THEN WE GAVE HER IN MARRIAGE TO THEE, so that there should not be any fault in the believers, touching the wives of their adopted sons, when they have accomplished what they would of them; and God’s commandment must be performed. S. 33:37

One Muslim who tries to justify this marriage is Mohd Elfie Nieshaem Juferi (MENJ) of the Bismikaallahuma web site. In this articleMENJ seeks to refute the charge that Muhammad had adulterous desires for a married woman, which then caused her husband to divorce her, giving Muhammad the opportunity to marry her. He does so by quoting Qadi Iyad ibn Musa al-Yahsubi’s comments on Muhammad’s marriage to Zaynab. The section in MENJ’s article is taken from the book, Ash-Shifa of Qadi ‘Iyad (Muhammad, Messenger of Allâh), Madinah Press, Granada (1991), pp. 352-354. The work was translated by Aisha Bewley.

For some strange reason MENJ seems to presume that Qadi Iyad’s version of the story will somehow absolve Muhammad of the charges leveled against him, when, in point of fact, they do more damage.

Here, we will quote the story as it appears in MENJ’s article and provide a response, in order to highlight how even this version of the events should cause major embarrassment for Muslims. All underline and capital emphasis is ours. The article begins:

The soundest version concerning this matter is in what the commentators have related from ‘Ali ibn Husayn. Allâh knew better than His Prophet that Zaynâb would be one of his wives. When Zayd complained about her to the Prophet(P), he told him, «Keep your wife and fear Allâh.» He hid in himself what Allâh had intimated to him about his marriage to her but Allâh brought it into the open by bringing her marriage to an end through Zayd’s divorcing her.

Al-Qûshayrî said that saying such a thing is a great audacity on the part of the one who says it and a lack of recognition of what is due to the Prophet(P) and of his supreme excellence. How could it be said that he saw her and admired her when she was his cousin and he had been seeing her since the time when she was born? Women did not veil themselves from him and he himself had married her to Zayd.

ALLAH MADE ZAYD DIVORCE ZAYNAB and marry the Prophet(P) to remove the barrier set up by ties of adoption and invalidating its customs. He says, «Muhammad is not the father of any of your men.» (33:40) And He says, «So that there would not be any fault for the believers regarding the wives of their adopted sons.» (33:37)

Abû`l-Lâyth as-Samarqândî said that if people ask what is the benefit in the Prophet(P) commanding Zayd to keep Zaynâb when Allâh had informed him that she was to be his wife, it is that the Prophet(P) forbade Zayd to divorce his wife because of the disharmony between Zayd and her while concealing in himself what Allâh had informed him about. When Zayd divorced her, her [sic] FEARED THAT PEOPLE WOULD SAY HE WAS MARRYING HIS SON’S WIFE, so Allâh commanded him to marry her to make what he was doing lawful for his community as Allâh said, «So that there would not be any fault for the believers regarding the wives of their adopted sons.» (33:37)

The Muslim source says a little later:

He said that the timidity (khashya) referred to here does not mean fear itself (khawf). It means to be modest or shy, i.e. he was shy before them because they would say, «He has married his son’s wife.» The Prophet’s(P) fear of people was because of the lies spread by the hypocrites and Jews when they made controversies for the Muslims by saying, «He has married his son’s wife» after he had forbidden them to marry the wives of their sons. Allâh censured him for this and freed him from paying any attention to them concerning what He had made lawful for him as He censured him for his deference to his wives’ pleasure in Sura at-Tahrim when He said, «Why do you make haram what Allah has made halal for you?» (66:1) This is the same as when Allâh says to him,«You fear people and it is more fitting to fear Allah.» (33:37)

Al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali and `Aishâ related, «If the Messenger of Allâh, may Allâh bless him and grant him peace, had concealed anything, he would have concealed this ayat since it contains blame of him and uncovers what he had concealed.»

RESPONSE:

Here, we are asked to believe that Allah, whom Muslims believe is the same God revealed in the Holy Bible, was the one who wanted Muhammad to marry someone else’s wife, moving Muhammad to have adulterous desires. Allah even caused the divorce of the married couple so as to bring about Zaynab’s marriage with Muhammad!

The above quotes clearly say that Muhammad even tried to conceal his desires since he knew the shame and embarrassment this would cause in the eyes of the people, implying that Muhammad held to a higher moral standard than Allah himself!

The God of the Holy Bible, Yahweh Elohim, has this to say about those who have desires for married women:

«You have heard that it was said, ‹You shall not commit adultery.› But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.» Matthew 5:27-28

The Holy Bible also says that the true God hates divorce:

«‹This is another thing you do: you cover the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping and with groaning, because He no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand. Yet you say, «For what reason?» Because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant. But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit And what did that one do while he was seeking a godly offspring? Take heed then to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth. For I hate divorce,› says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‹and him who covers his garment with wrong,› says the LORD of hosts. So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.’» Malachi 2:13-16

Hence, Allah of the Quran is completely unlike the true God of the Holy Bible who hates adulterous acts and desires, as well as hating divorce, and would not force anyone to forsake their wives so as to allow others to marry them.

This isn’t the only time that Allah contradicts the true God Yahweh, as the following passages show:

«When a man takes a wife and marries her, if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, and she departs out of his house, and if she goes and becomes another man’s wife, and the latter man hates her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter man dies, who took her to be his wife, then her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after she has been defiled, for that is an abomination before the LORD. And you shall not bring sin upon the land that the LORD your God is giving you for an inheritance.» Deuteronomy 24:1-4

«‹If a man divorces his wife and she goes from him and becomes another man’s wife, will he return to her? Would not that land be greatly polluted? You have played the whore with many lovers; and would you return to me?› declares the LORD.» Jeremiah 3:1

If he divorces her finally, she shall not be lawful to him after that, until she marries another husband. If he divorces her, then it is no fault in them to return to each other, if they suppose that they will maintain God’s bounds. Those are God’s bounds; He makes them clear unto a people that have knowledge. S. 2:230

Yahweh classifies as an abomination a practice that Allah says is perfectly fine!

But wait, there is more! There happens to be another major problem with the Quran’s reasoning behind Muhammad marrying his adopted son’s divorcee. The Quran claims that the purpose for the marriage, the rationale behind Muhammad marrying Zaynab, is so that the believers could see that there is no sin in a person marrying his adopted son’s former wife. But the main problem with this line of reasoning is that the Quran prohibits Muslim men from adopting sons altogether!

God has not assigned to any man two hearts within his breast; nor has He made your wives, when you divorce, saying, ‹Be as my mother’s back,› truly your mothers, neither has He made your adopted sons your sons in fact. That is your own saying, the words of your mouths; but God speaks the truth, and guides on the way. Call them after their true fathers; that is more equitable in the sight of God. If you know not who their fathers were, then they are your brothers in religion, and your clients. There is no fault in you if you make mistakes, but only in what your hearts premeditate. God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate. S. 33:4-5

Regarding this passage, Ibn Kathir says:

<nor has He made your adopted sons your real sons.>

This was revealed concerning Zayd bin Harithah, may Allah be pleased with him, the freed servant of the Prophet. The Prophet had adopted him before prophethood, and he was known as Zayd bin Muhammad. Allah wanted to put an end to this naming and attribution …

This is a command which abrogates the state of affairs that existed at the beginning of Islam, when it was permitted to call adopted sons after the man who adopted them. Then Allah commanded that they should be given back the names of their real fathers, and states that this was more fair and just. Al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar said: «Zayd bin Muhammad, may Allah be pleased with him, the freed servant of the Messenger of Allah was ALWAYS CALLED Zayd bin Muhammad, UNTIL (the words of the) QUR’AN WERE REVEALED

<Call them (adopted sons) by (the names of) their fathers, that is more just with Allah.>«

This was also narrated by Muslim, At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa’i. They used to deal with them as sons in every respect, including being alone with them as Mahrams and so on. Hence, Sahlah bint Suhaly, the wife of Abu Hudhayfah, may Allah be pleased with them both, said: «O Messenger of Allah! We used to call Salim our son, but Allah has revealed what He has revealed. He used to enter upon me, but I feel that Abu Hudhayfah does not like that.» The Prophet said …

((Breastfeed him and he will become your Mahram.))

Hence when this ruling was abrogated, Allah made it permissible for a man to marry the ex-wife of his adopted son, and the Messenger of Allah married Zaynab bint Jash, the divorced wife of Zayd bin Harithah, may Allah be pleased with him, Allah said …

<So that (in the future) there may be no difficulty to the believers in respect of the wives of their adopted sons when the latter have no desire to keep them> (33:37)

And Allah says in Ayat At-Tahrim

<The wives of your sons from your own loins> (4:23).

The wife of an adopted son is not included because he was not born from the man’s loins. A «foster» son through breastfeeding is the same as a son born from one’s own loins, from the point of view of the Shari‘ah, because the Prophet said in the Two Sahihs

((Suckling makes unlawful as lineage does.))

<Call them by their fathers.> This is concerning Zayd bin Harithah, may Allah be pleased with him. He was killed in 8 AH at the battle of Mu’tah. In Sahih Muslim it is reported that Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, said: «The Messenger of Allah said …

((O my son.))» It was also reported by Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi …

<But if you know not their father’s (sic) then they are your brothers in the religion and Mawalikum (your freed servants).>

Here Allah commands that adopted sons should be given back their fathers› names, if they are known; if they are not known, then they should be called brothers in faith or freed servants, to compensate for not knowing what their real lineage is. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged) Volume 7 (Surat An-Nur to Surat Al-Ahzab, Verse 50), abridged by a group of scholars under the supervision of Shaykh Safiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri [Darussalam Publishers & Distributors, Riyadh, Houston, New York, London, Lahore; First Edition: August 2000], pp. 634-637; bold and capital emphasis ours)

And, in reference to surah 33:40, Ibn Kathir writes:

<Muhammad is not the father of any of your men,>

After this it was not permitted to say Zayd bin Muhammad, i.e., he was not his father even though he had adopted him … (Ibid., p. 701; bold emphasis ours)

Muslim jurist, Imam Malik, recorded:

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that he was asked about the suckling of an older person. He said, »Urwa ibn az-Zubayr informed me that Abu Hudhayfa ibn Utba ibn Rabia, one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who was present at Badr, adopted Salim (who is called Salim, the mawla of Abu Hudhayfa) as the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, adopted Zayd ibn Haritha. He thought of him as his son, and Abu Hudhayfa married him to his brother’s sister, Fatima bint al-Walid ibn Utba ibn Rabia, who was at that time among the first emigrants. She was one of the best unmarried women of the Quraysh. When Allah the Exalted sent down in His Book what He sent down about Zayd ibn Haritha‹Call them after their true fathers. That is more equitable in the sight of Allah. If you do not know who their fathers were then they are your brothers in the deen and your mawali,› (Sura 33 ayat 5) people in this position were traced back to their fathers. When the father was not known, they were traced to their mawla… (Malik’s Muwatta, Book 30, Number 30.2.12)

In light of the foregoing, we must ask how could Muhammad be an example for others to emulate regarding the permissibility of marrying one’s adopted son’s divorcee when Allah went on to forbid the practice of adoption? Does this make any sense whatsoever?

The Qadi continues:

It is said that the Prophet’s(P) command to Zayd to keep Zaynâb was to restrain the appetite which comes to the self from its desire. If we allow this, it must be that he saw her and suddenly thought her beautiful. Things like this are unobjectionable since it is the nature of the Banu Adam[2] to find beauty beautiful. The sudden glance is forgiven. Then he restrained himself from her and told Zayd to keep her.

RESPONSE:

It may be the case that a sudden glance can be forgiven, but when the glance causes a divorce then this becomes a major sin. It is the sin of adultery, a sin which God doesn’t take lightly. The admission that Muhammad saw Zaynab and thought she was beautiful means that Muhammad had committed adultery in his heart. The fact that he went ahead and married the divorcee, instead of curtailing his adulterous desires, means that Muhammad and Zaynab were adulterers in the eyes of the true God:

«It was also said, ‹Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.› But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.» Matthew 5:31-32

According to the Lord Jesus, Zayd had no grounds for divorcing Zaynab, since neither party committed adultery, and their marriage was still binding when Muhammad married her. Thus, no matter what reason Muslims come up with, the moral problem still remains.

We now turn to the final point of our response:

Abu Bakr ibn Fûrak said that the Prophet(P) was free from hypocrisy and manifesting the opposite of what was inside him. Allâh freed him of that when he said, «There is no fault in the Prophet in what Allah has decreed for him.» (33:38) Whoever thinks that about the Prophet(P) has lied.

RESPONSE:

Let us see if, whether, the Muslim sources agree that Muhammad was free from hypocrisy:

Narrated ‹Aisha:

A man asked permission to enter upon the Prophet. When the Prophet saw him, he said, «What an evil brother of his tribe! And what an evil son of his tribe!» When that man sat down, the Prophet behaved with him in a nice and polite manner and was completely at ease with him. When that person had left, ‹Aisha said (to the Prophet). «O Allah’s Apostle! When you saw that man, you said so-and-so about him, then you showed him a kind and polite behavior, and you enjoyed his company?» Allah’s Apostle said, «O ‹Aisha! Have you ever seen me speaking a bad and dirty language? (Remember that) the worst people in Allah’s sight on the Day of Resurrection will be those whom the people leave (undisturbed) to be away from their evil (deeds).» (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 73, Number 59o)

The above hadith shows Muhammad acting hypocritically towards a person who he had just slandered behind his back! Thus, it is not at all evident that Muhammad was free of hypocrisy or of manifesting the opposite of what was inside him.

To summarize the data from the very Muslim source which MENJ cites approvingly, we learned that:

  1. Allah caused Muhammad to have desires for a married woman, for his adopted son’s wife.
  2. Allah even caused Muhammad’s son to divorce his wife so that Muhammad could then marry her.
  3. The reason why Allah did this was to show others that it was permissible for them to marry their adopted sons› former wives.
  4. Yet, later on, Allah forbids the adoption of children and does not allow any one to be called the child of someone other than his/her biological father.
  5. Therefore, Muhammad’s marriage to Zaynab was unnecessary since Muslims have no chance of ever marrying the former wives of their adopted children, seeing that there is no more adoption in Islam!
  6. Furthermore, Muslims believe that Allah knows all things, which means that he knew beforehand that he was going to abolish the practice of adoption. Why, then, did he commission the divorce between Zayd and Zaynab, so as to allow Muhammad to marry the latter as a way of showing other Muslims that this practice is ok, when he already knew in advance that he would prohibit adoption altogether?

In light of the preceding, is it not rather obvious that Muhammad needed justification for marrying his adopted son’s wife, his daughter-in-law, after having caused a rift in the marriage due to his desires for Zaynab which then led to the couple divorcing? Are we really supposed to believe that the true God not only put it in Muhammad’s heart to desire a married woman, but also caused Zayd to divorce his wife in order that Muhammad could marry her? Does God really cause people to lust, to have adulterous desires?

Surprisingly, according to Islamic theology, he actually does:

Narrated Ibn ‹Abbas:

I did not see anything so resembling minor sins as what Abu Huraira said from the Prophet, who said, «Allah has written for the son of Adam his inevitable share of adultery whether he is aware of it or not: The adultery of the eye is the looking (at something which is sinful to look at), and the adultery of the tongue is to utter (what it is unlawful to utter), and the innerself wishes and longs for (adultery) and the private parts turn that into reality or refrain from submitting to the temptation.» (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 77, Number 609)

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: Verily Allah has fixed the very portion of adultery which a man will indulge in, and which he of necessity must commit. The adultery of the eye is the lustful look, and the adultery of the tongue is the licentious speech, the heart desires and yearns, which the parts may or may not put into effect. (Sahih Muslim, Book 033, Number 6421, see also Number 6422)

How, then, can the Allah of Islam be the same God revealed in the Holy Bible? The answer is, he can’t be, simple as that.

میخوایم مبارزه کنیم، خون واسه خنده نمیدیم با کار زینبی در چارچوب جمهوری اسلامی،
هر کس با جمهوری اسلامی دشمن هست قدمش تو مبارزه رو چشم، قراره هزینه بدن، جون بدن ، حلوا پخش نمیکنیم که،
سپس هر کی رای آورد، حتی اگه جمهوری اسلامی خواهان رای بیارن.
این دعوا ها واسه چیه؟
اگر هر کی ا تو انتخابات مردمی رای بیارن ، کی میخواد خودش رو بماله به دیوار؟

در حالیکه مردم ما از دست جنایت ها ، نا برابری ها، اعدام ها، بی قانونی ها، ستمهای دینی ، ناشایستگی های اقتصادی، بی قابلیت های سیاسی، خفقان دینی و اجتماعی خون میگریند، گروهی سر در آخور جمهوری اسلامی کرده اند و همه کوشش خود رو با کار میبندند، تا زجر کش شدن ایرانی و بدبختی های همه نژاد های این خاک رو درون همین خاک کنند. ولی دلا چه حاصل که همه میدانیم هیچ چیزی در این سراسر سی و چند سال این حکومت جز خفقان و آدم کشی نبوده که بشود به هیچ رویی کثافت کاری های این جمهوری خون و جنون رو خاک مالی کرد. در ان هنگامی که مردم شجاع دل، این مردم دلاور، این شیران بیشه ایرانی، جان در کف در خیابان های این دیار از شیراز و اصفهان و رشت و اهواز و تهران و کردستان و کرمان وهمه جا ، سقوط این جمهوری نا اسلامی رو با فریاد مرگ بر دیکتاتور، مرگ بر جمهوری اسلامی، و کار خدا با خدا دین از سیاست جدا فریاد میزنند، هیچ حاشیه امنی برای برای بخشی از سامانه اعدام جمهوری اسلامی نمیخواهند، ما همه این جمهوری اعدام رو فرد میزنیم که به زیر آی، که هیچ راهی برای آزادی بدون گذشتن از روی نعش این فساد چاره نیست. نیازی به ترجمه عالیجنابان بی چهره نداریم، که سخن خود راستی است، به زیر آی نا جمهوری اعدام اسلامی با خامنه ای یا بی خامنه ای، پس از ۳۲ سال یا هر چه، به زیر آی ، که این خاک را از آغاز ، هیچ گاه سزای چکمه های پلشت تو نبود.

آیا این فریاد نیازی به ترجمه دارد؟ نه، ما به هیچ زبانی نیاز نداریم که ما خود فریادم.

(در واکنش به دزدی شعار های مردم توسط بخشی شناخته شده جمهوری اسلامی چی که کوشش به وابسته کردن این قیام تنها به حکومت ۲۲ ساله خامنه ای کرده اند. به راستی چه کسی با خریدن همه خطر ها وقتی فریاد میزد گفت ، تنها ۲۲ سال آقای خامنه ای را نمیخواهد؟)

این جنبش آزادی خواهی رو  از دوباره  به ورطه جمهوری خونین اسلامی افتادن باز داریم.

پس  از گندیده شدن   بی چون  و چرای  اصول  گرایان  و  نداشتن  هیچ  پایگاه   مردمی  همانگونه که خود جمهوری اسلامی هم میدونه در هیچ انتخابات آزادی هیچ شانسی برای ماندن نداره، و رو شدن دست های از آستین جمهوری اسلامی برامده اصلاح طلبان برای مردم و نمایان شدن خواست های پنهان اونها که همین جمهوری اسلامی هست ولی با رنگ و لعابی به بهای  خون هم میهنان از دست رفته، که این از روز نخست از بیانیه ها و «منشور تحمیلی» اصلاح طلبان پیدا بود،ولی  باز جمهوری اسلامی دست به حقه کثیف و نیرنگ تازه ای زده،  عالیجنابان بیچهره از هر سو مانند قارچ سر در بر میارند، شورای هماهنگی، راه سبز امید، جوانان اصلاح طلب ، سبز های  فلان جا ….و این بر رسانه های مدرن ، جرس، کلمه، رسا، شبکه ماهواره ای فلان، … با همه ارزش و بهایی که آزادی خواهان راستین دارن ، باید این جنبش آزادی خواهی رو  از دوباره  به ورطه جمهوری خونین اسلامی افتادن باز داشته بشه.
حال آنکه برخی ازین گروه های دروغین  تنها برای ساخت پایگاه مردمی و هدایت اندیشه دیگران ساخته شدن و چهره راستینی در پس پرده ندارن ولی به روشنی آفتاب آشکار هست هر جا اگر   که این نام های بی بنیان ،  چهره های پنهان در پشت پرده دارند، دو دل نباشید که اصول گرایان جمهوری اسلامی از همه ریز و درشت اینها آگاه هست. ولی تنها کسانی که همیشه در این سر زمین از هر حقی بی بهره بوده اند از جمله دانستن و آگاهی  مردم هستن ، رعیت هایی که همیشه این  اربابان دنبال حکمرانی بی چون و چرای اون ها بوده و هستن.
به راستی که شناخت این عالیجنابان بی چهره هیچ کارایی برای  من  و شما و دیگران نداره، ولی چیزی که بسیار در خور نگرانی هست، به دنبال رعیت بودن این اربابان هست، اربابانی بی گوش و بی چشم ولی با چندین دهان با پوستین تازه. این ها که در روندی خمینی وار همیشه به گونه رسمی اگهی میدن که رهبر نیستن  و دنباله رو هستند و هماهنگ کننده، هر جا خواست مردم در میان باشه اون رو از چارچوب شورای هماهنگی با خواست خودشون که گمراه کردن مردم هست جا به جا میکنن. ولی  چه باک که گفته های مردم در خیابان بر هیچ کس پوشیده نیست.

عالیجنابان هیچ گرایشی به همراهی مردم ندارن، مانند همیشه این ما  رعیت ها هستیم که باید بتی بزرگ از عالیجنابان بی چهره برای پرستش گاه قدیمی بسازیم
شاید اما  این بار بت های بی چهره را بشکنیم.

خوب اصلاح طلب ها باز دست به یک بازی فرسایشی دیگه زدن، سه شنبه های اعتراض! حرکتی که جز برای اصلاح طلبان و جمهوری اسلامی سودی برای ایرانیان دردمند نداره.

در این میان چیز های بسیاری هست که باید با ریز بینی بهش نگاه کرد. ولی چند خطی:
نخست، همه ما آزادی خواهان اعتراض داریم ، ولی هدف ما چی هست؟ یک هدف موقتی و احساساتی، یا هدفی که ارزش این همه هزینه و کشته ها و اضطراب رو داشته باش؟ این جنبش یک حرکت بزرگ هست. ما دلاوری ها کردیم. همه با هم هستیم ، ما بیشمار هستیم. باز هم همه با هم دلاوری ها میکنیم. کشته خواهیم شد، هر چند تا کنون از مرگ نترسیدیم، از این پس هم نمیترسیم. ما به هدف بزرگی فکر میکنیم. به بسیاری چیز ها اعتراض داریم.
به کشتار و جنایت، به نابرابری اجتماعی،به نبود   قانون اساسی فراگیر، به حکومت دینی، به نداشتن اقتصاد مناسب علی رقم درامد سرانه بسیار بالا ، به نبودن شایسته سالاری، به دیکتاتوری، نبود آزادی بیان، به سانسور، به احمق  فرض کردن مردم ایران، به نداشتن رفاه اجتماعی، نداشتن امنیتاجتماعی، نبود حریم خصوصی….

حالا به چی اعتراض داریم؟ به حصر موسوی و کروبی از سوی جمهوری اسلامی یا به حصر همه ایران ؟
خوب اونا خودشون این جمهوری اسلامی رو میخوان، چرا همه ایران رو آزاد نکنیم، اون ها هم همراه دیگر ایرانیان آزاد بشن ؟
همه میدونیم جمهوری اسلامی که اونا میخوان، چیزی نیست که ما میخوایم،
گیریم حمله کنیم موسوی و کروبی رو نجات بدیم، از نظامی که خودشون میخوان پابرجا بمونه؟
خوب همه رو میکشن، موسوی رو هم با کروبی باز دستگیر میکنن
یا اینکه بریم تظاهرات ، کشته بشیم تا جمهوری اسلامی بگه خوب ما کوتاه میام ، هر چی اصلاح طلب ها بگن، اون ها هم بگن ما جمهوری اسلامی میخوایم؟
حرکت باید برای اقدام نهائی باشه

دوم، اینکه من هم نگران سرنوشت آقایان موسوی و کروبی و به ویژه زندانی های بیپناهی هستم که سر به نیست میشن، شکنجه پیش کش، همونائی که از خودمون تو این تظاهرات بودن و دستگیر شدن
ما آزادی برای همه ایران میخوایم ، برای همه ایرانیان. برای همه نژاد ها، همه ادیان، همه سلیقه ها، فراتر از هر دین و مرامی

سوم،هزینه بیهوده ندیم. ما تا حالا بیش از پیشبینی کشته دادیم. ما داریم هزینه رو میدیم پس نتیجه بگیریم. نتیجه ای شیرین کم همه رو شیرین کنه. بدون داشتن هدف نهایی خودمون رو به کشتن ندیم، این رو هم نکنیم مانند اعتراض به شکل خاموش کردن چراغ ها.تظاهرات یک بار برای همیشه، کشته شدن یک بار همراه با اعتصاب و با برنامه. چرا اصلاح طلب ها از یک تظاهرات همیشگی و فراگیر پشتیبانی نمیکنن؟
گیریم جمهوری اسلامی قدرت رو به این اصلاح طلب ها داد، چه کسی کشته های مارو پس از جنگ قدرت این ها زنده میکنه ؟

چهارم ، سه شنبه های اعتراض همه مون فرسوده میکنه. کی هر سه شنبه باز میاد، تو این بازی فرسایشی، آخه هر بچه این رو میفهمه، این ها بازیه. این چیزیه که این ها واسه حفظ بیضه های نظام لازم دارن. در گیر کردن ما به هیچ

پنجم، نذاریم ارزش این جنبش رو تا حد یک تغییر وزیر پایین بیارن، نذاریم وقتی میگیم خر نمیخوایم ، پالان خر عوض بشه. این جنبش امید همه این مردم هست، نذاریم با احساسات یک ملت بازی بشه. احساس مسولیت کنیم، برای جون همه ما هایی که کشته خواهیم شد، نذاریم جون ها مون به یغما بره، آزادی اگر هست، برای همه ایران هست.

دست در دست هم دهیم به مهر همه ایران را کنیم آزاد

جمهوری اسلامی باید برود. با منشور یا بدون منشور جنبش سبز اصلاح طلبی ، جنبش آزادی خواهی این مردم خاموش شدنی نیست.

منشور جنبش سبز اصلاح طلبی هم آمد. با امضای آقای کروبی و آقای موسوی
من هر چی می اندیشم میبینم که جمهوری اسلامی هم همینو میگه، قانون اساسی هم همینو میگه، چه منشوری پس؟
این منشور رو جنتی نوشته  به درد لاریجانی  میخوره تو مجلس هم تصویب میشه ، کشته دادن نمیخواست
نمیفهمم سرانجام این جنبش سبز مال همه هست، یا ما بیرونیم از حقوقش ولی درونیم به مسولیت ها و کشته شدن؟
آخه قانون اساسی که به این راحتی همه حقوق اولیه انسانی رو زیره پا میگذاره چه پشتیبانی داره؟
اسلامی که همه اصولش با کشتن و زور گوئی هست، چه سودی داره؟
پیدا بود  دارن پشت پرده سازش میکنن از نخست هر گاه کم میارن کمی مردم میفرستن جلو گلوله، یا  سر دار ، کمی امتیاز بگیرن
هر دو طرف همین کارو میکنن،
جمهوری اسلامی بسیجی میفرسته و عواملشو ، اصلاح طلب ها تلاش میکنن پشت حرکت آزادی خواهی مردم جبهه بگیرن.
مترسک بودن کافیه.
عروسک این حزب و اون حزب شدن بسه.
پیدا بود  اگه دنبال اینا باشیم  باید در هفته های آینده بریم دنبال جنازه های اعدامی هامون ، همچون که تا این دم همین طور بوده.
این ها مردم رو به بازی گرفتن، واسه همین ککشون در کشتن مردم نمیگزه، از هیچی ترسی ندارن، چون میدونن سرانجام رویدادی پیش نمیاد،
همه این خبر ها جهت گیری داره، همه کارهاشون، اینها با تئوریسن های زبردستی این برنامه ها رو میچین،
ولی تا کی گول نظام دیکتاتوری و نماینده هاشو بخوریم؟
اون مردم تو خیابون این حرفا سرشون نمیشه
من  نه به چارچوب قانون اساسی باور دارم 

نه  در چارچوبه اسلام بودن
ما از جنبش سبز این ها بیرونیم ؟
در فردای دموکراسی همین اصلاح طلب ها با همین خامنه ای یا هر ولی فقیهی یا شیخ دینی   بیان اگه رای آوردن هی اصلاح کنن.
رنگ جنبش یا منشور اینها اهمیتی نداره ، جنبش آزادی خواهی این مردم خاموش شدنی نیست.
جمهوری اسلامی باید برود.
